I’ve been wanting to do a maternity series for a while now, but I didn’t have the chance until this year. Most of my clients are well into their pregnancies by the time they get to me, but I was lucky enough to have a former wedding client tell me about her pregnancy early enough to get this project rolling! I was so excited to photograph her throughout her pregnancy, and I love the way the series turned out:

I think it’s so cool to see how she progressed throughout her pregnancy, and I really wish I’d done something like this with my last pregnancy.
I would love to do more of these, so please contact me if you’re interested in being a guinea pig! I have a few other ideas up my sleeve. :)

This is such a great time of year to get outside for family portraits! I met up with R and her family yesterday to photograph her family, and I cannot even begin to tell you all how much fun we had.
We decided to take the portraits at her house out in the yard, and we had the perfect weather for it. As soon as I walked into the house I knew this wasn’t going to be the standard portrait session. And I was perfectly ok with that. :D
First we started with a few photos of the brothers together…with Dad heckling them in the background. :D They managed to ignore him pretty well, though. I was impressed. ;-)

Since Dad was giving the guys such a hard time I had him jump in a few photos. And I managed to capture this gem. I think it might be my favorite. :D

I can’t tease them about it too much since I could easily do that same photo with my two sisters. Hey, maybe I will the next time we’re all together!
We decided to get a little more serious once Mom got involved, but I promise they were stick cracking jokes and being silly the entire time. I can’t believe I actually got a shot of them all smiling at the same time!

And here are a few more of Mom and Dad together. She has such pretty, smiley eyes!

After we got the more “serious” stuff out of the way it was time to get silly. And these are definitely some of my favorite photos from the session. :)

I know I said the Hear No Evil photo was probably might favorite, but I’m actually torn. This next photo was all their idea, and I love it. Can you guess which Wii game they’re playing?! :D

Thanks so much for being such an awesome family to photograph! You guys were a lot of fun, and I had a great time hanging out with you. :) I hope you love the photos as much as I do, and I’ll have your full proof gallery posted soon!
