An afternoon in the park.

Written by KellyT @ 10:11 am on June 1, 2008

Mother Nature was kind to me yet again, and I had a fantastic engagement session with K and D at Piedmont Park. It was a little toasty, but we met late in the day to catch some of that beautiful late afternoon sunlight.

The park wasn’t overly crowded so we were able to get a lot of fun shots. I ran them ragged for sure, but they were both really good sports about it all! Thanks, guys, for trekking all over Piedmont Park with me. I think the results were worth it. :)

These two are just so sweet and so much fun to be around. I cannot wait for their wedding in July. :)

  1. I love the lighting! How did you light them? I was trying to reverse engineer it, but I can’t figure it out. Did you use a lightsphere?

By the way, I’m a long time fan of your work. I live in the Atlanta area and check your blog(s) at least twice a week. You are a really good photographer.

    Thanks,
    Mike

  2. Thanks, Mike! I really appreciate the comment and am glad you enjoy my work. I have the best job in the world. :)

I actually used a gold reflector to light the shots at the park. I was there late in the day (around 7pm), so we had really nice light.

Several of the images posted on my blog are process using Lightroom presets by my good friend Dustin Steller. They have kind of a cross-processed look to them which I love. It’s exactly what I had in mind as I was shooting, so I’m really happy with the results. :)

Dustin’s Lightroom presets are available for purchase, and I highly recommend them! You can find them here:

On a side note, I do use the Gary Fong Lightsphere with my Speedlight occasionally for fill. I prefer to use a reflector when I can, though.

    Hope this helps!
